Leadership: visioning, culture and impact

What changes in a classroom holds only when the school around it moves too. So we work with leadership as a journey of its own, in five parts. Each part can also be taken on its own.

With management

Set the direction

Two to four in-person sessions with management, principal, coordinators and heads. We align the school's vision with competency-driven pedagogy and assessment, agree what "working" looks like at six months and one year, and name the real constraints: timetable, resources, systems.

What this includes: Visioning and goal setting · Agreed goals at three levels: school-wide, teacher practice, student learning · A success measure and a review date for each goal · A role map naming who owns what

"Our correspondent's dream was to turn all the kids into little scientists, and when she met the S2S team, it was exactly what she was looking for."

Anneka, Middle School Coordinator, Corpus Christi School

Build the culture

A classroom where a wrong answer is worth staying with needs a school that works the same way. We work with leadership on what decides this: observation and appraisal, staff meetings, timetable control, and what the school says to parents about marks. Mostly a series of small permissions rather than a policy document.

What this includes: Mistake-friendly enabling culture · A mentor teacher cohort · A monthly teacher circle · Cross-school sharing between partner schools

With parents

Parent engagement

Bringing parents into the partnership, so that the way a child learns at school is understood and supported at home. A session for the parents of a partner school, run with the school, early in the year, before the first report card: why their child is being taught this way, what a mistake-friendly classroom looks like from the outside, and what will and will not change on a report card.

What this includes: A session for parents, run with the school · Why their child is being taught this way · What a mistake-friendly classroom looks like from the outside · What will and will not change on a report card

With leadership

Review what changed

Quarterly reviews with your leadership through the year, and a written end-of-year report: what was run, what changed in classrooms, what the baseline and endline assessment shows. Written for a management committee.

What this includes: Impact tracking and review · Quarterly Academic Review · A Learning Health Summary from each review · Baseline and endline results by competency and grade · A written end-of-year impact report

Build the systems

New teachers arrive already aligned to your pedagogy, and visiting parents meet it at the door. Competency-based tests, values-aligned interviews and individual onboarding for hiring; an admissions process built on reasoning over recall, with observation-based tasks and a reception space that shows children's own work.

What this includes: Teacher recruitment and onboarding · Admissions process redesign

All five parts come together as Learn2Learn, our comprehensive school partnership program.
